The NFC Rules in the NFL in 2012.
The numbers back it up, the NFC is where the power lies in 2012 in the NFL. We have seen decades where different conferences have dominated the power when it comes to the NFL. And because of the strength of those conferences during those times the champions of those conferences have often been battle tested by the time they get to the Super Bowl.
Right now, the balance of power clearly rests in the NFC. There are several AFC teams that you could argue are at or near the top of the list as potential SuperBowl champions to be crowned in New Orleans next February (Patriots, Texans, Ravens…maybe even the Steelers. Don’t count out Pittsburgh..I never do). Despite those power teams the NFC is much stronger top to bottom than the AFC. And the bottom is where this debate ends. Listen to Kerry Byrne talk about the 8 worst teams in the NFL right now. And listen when he backs it up with quality stats to support his argument.
None of us know for sure who is going to win or be in the SuperBowl next February but the bottom 8 worst teams in football all come from the AFC right now.
